For those new to Rainbow, Great Lakes Fall Counsel is much like any other gathering with plenty of food, fun, music, old and new friends around the campfire, though at some time(s) during the weekend we’ll pass the feather in a circle to decide plans for the kitchen and trailer for the coming year.

Family consensus is that the big annual Rainbow Gathering will be in Oregon in 2017, though there is always the possibility of a local gathering in Michigan.

All are welcome in counsel, even first time gatherers. Plenty of informal discussions and also heartsong circles are likely as well. When an actual “counsel,” “council,” “kownsayl,” or “clownshow,”  is “happening” depends on the consensus of the counsel, but it will certainly happen sometime between Fri-Sun.

Bring food to share, non-alcoholic drinks and all good things.  Water is available on site. Lots of room for camping is available, but be well prepared for cold and rain, it is Michigan after all. Please honor our hosts’ wishes to return to the land to its unoccupied state after Sunday.  The land is sacred and requires our deep respect.  Walk lightly,  and remember, cleanup starts when you get here.

Hauling a full kitchen across the country, or even somewhere here in the MItten, and then feeding hundreds of people can cost many thousands of dollars, so if you happen to be blessed in that regard, consider bringing a donation for the magic hat.

Most importantly, bring your beautiful soul dear family!

    Hello,

I read an article on the DAPL peaceful movement. It looks as if the outlying town is struggling with the massive influx of people helping to support the cause. Please alert all your connections and cohesively form a solution to this problem. Disregarding this message might lead to dire consequences such as rivers becoming simotaniously poluted and not enough drinking water to supply the populus. An example of a disregarded plea for help was a judge ruling no lawsuits can be made against the government in the State of Washington by a concerned employee whether said employee was intending to press a lawsuit or not. Such a ruling could prove disastrous results for nuclear waste in containments 30 years past it’s design life. Please help the organization at sacred stone and red warrior camp in North Dakota.
